Vehicle Fire at Waukewan Beach
August 29, 2014
At 11:16 14 Rescue 1 notified the Lakes Region Mutual Aid Communications Center via radio that they were on the scene of a vehicle fire at the Meredith Town Beach on waukewan Street and requested a tone for an Engine company to the scene. 14 Engine 1 responded and arrived at 11:19. Personnel from 14 Rescue 1 had gained access to the trunk of the vehicle and extinguished the fire with an extinguisher prior to arrival. Investigation revealed the vehicle owner had assembled a home made charging system with a portable battery charger and jumper cables to supplement battery power to the vehicle which had a faulty alternator.
