Mission Statement
To serve and protect the community of Meredith and wherever summoned with the greatest possible skill and professionalism. We endeavor to provide, through training and professional development, a superior level of response to all types of emergencies and calls for assistance. When doing so, we will hold ourselves to the highest possible code of conduct as both responders and citizens. We will strive to be "Always Ready".
About Us
The Town of Meredith is located in the heart of New Hampshire's
Lakes Region and the Meredith Fire Department proudly protects 6,623
year round residents (2008 estimate) living in an area of 53.7 square miles. During the peak tourist season the population can more than triple.
We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential/rural
area. This area also includes 14.2 square miles of water in Lake Winnipesaukee, Lake Winnisquam and several smaller lakes and ponds within the Town boundaries. Several islands in these bodies of water are populated in the summer as well.
Our department is a public department, whose members are on
a paid on call status, providing the Town of Meredith with fire suppression,
search and rescue, extrication, and Haz-Mat services.
