Minor Collision on Frances Court
October 11, 2011
Meredith companies were alerted morning at 7:27 to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Frances Court and Gary's Way. 14C2 (Kloetz) arrived on scene to find a two vehicle collision with minor damage and fluids down. 14 Engine 1 arrived shortly after and the crew began work to contain the spill and secure vehicle power. Companies were in service at 8:00.

Daniel Webster Highway MVA
October 8, 2011
Meredith crews responded at 21:01 to a motor vehicle accident in front of Hart's Turkey Farm Restaurant. Companies arrived on scene to find a two vehicle rear end collision. Crews assisted Stewart's Ambulance personnel who transported two ocupants of one vehicle with non-life threatening injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured. Companies also coantained fluid leaks and secured vehicle power. Companies remained on scene for vehicle removal. All companies were placed in service at 21:38.

Route 25 MVA
October 7, 2011
Meredith companies were alerted at 11:52 to respond to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of NH Route 25 and True Road. Companies arrived on scene to find that a pickup truck hauling a boat trailer had struck the rear of a Class A motor home. Moderate damage was incurred by the motor home while the other vehicle was severely damaged. The occupant of the pickup sustained a minor hand injury but refused transport to the hospital. The Engine crew cleaned up debris and secured vehicle power. All Companies cleared the scene at 12:33

Animal Rescue
Ocrober 3, 2011
Meredith companies were called at 12:56 to 21 Ridge Road for an animal rescue. The crew utilized a ground ladder to retrieve a feline that had been unable to make it's way from the top of a tree. The cat was quickly reunited with it's owner. Companies were on scene for approxmately one half hour.

Daniel Webster Highway MVA
August 13, 2011
Meredith companies responded at 15:57 to a motor vehicle accident with unknown injury on Daniel Webster Highway in the area of Picnic Rock Farm. 14C3 (Deputy Joslin) arrived on scene and reported that two vehicles were involved. 14 Engine 1 arrived shortly after and the crew secured vehicle power and contained fluid spills. Companies remained on scene for approximately one half hour until both vehicles were removed.

First Alarm Structure Fire
June 8, 2011
Meredith companies were alerted at 15:56 today of a structure fire at 20 True Road, Unit 67. 14C4 (Captain Haines) arrived on scene within two minutes of the initial tone and reported heavy smoke showing and fire at the rear of the structure. Due to the hot and humid weather conditions he immediately called for a first alarm to bolster manpower. 14 Engine 1 arrived on scene shortly after and the crew initiated an aggressive attack and made a quick knock down on the fire. Mutual Aid companies assisted with final extinguisment and over haul. 15 Engine 4 (Moultonborough) and 17 Engine 1 (New Hampton) provided cover trucks for the Meredith stations. All companies were in service by 18:15.

Daniel Webster Highway MVA

Meredith companies responded to a motor vehicle accident in front of 319 Daniel Webster Highway his afternoon. 14C1 arrived on scene and reported two vehicles were involved. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage in the head on collision. The crew on 14 Engine 1 secured power on both vehicles and contained fluid leaks. Stewarts Ambulance personnel evaluated the occupants of both vehicles. All denied any injury. Companies were on scene for approximately one hour.

Barnard Ridge Road MVA
April 23, 2011
Meredith crews were busy with several motor vehicle accidents today as Mother Nature decided Winter wasn't quite over yet. At 11:26 this incident occurred on Barnard Ridge Road near Meredith Neck Road. 14 Engine 1 arrived on scene and reported a single vehicle had slid off the road . Stewarts Ambulance personnel evaluated all occupants and ultimately one patient was transported to LRGH with minor injuries. 14 Engine 1 remained on scene until the vehicle was removed. Companies returned to service at 12:28.

MVA with Wires Down
April 3, 2011
Meredith crews were alerted to a motor vehicle accident at 15:00 today on Chemung Road near the intersection with Meredith Center Road. 14C3 arrived on scene and reported a single vehicle had struck a utility pole. The pole had been snapped in two places with low hanging wires now draped across the road. Stewarts Ambulance personnel evaluated the lone occupant who declined transport to the hospital. 14 Engine 2 stood by until New Hampshire Co-op arrived to repair the pole. Companies returned to service at 15:57.

Second Alarm Structure Fire in Sandwich
February 27, 2011
Meredith Fire Department crews assisted Sandwich firefighters today. At 11:14 a first alarm was sounded for a structure fire at 380 Whiteface Road. The assignment for Meredith was to provide station coverage for Sandwich. At 11:50, which was shortly after 14 Engine 4 arrived at the Sandwich station, Command called for a second alarm to provide additional manpower. This brought 14 Engine 4 from the cover assignment as well as 14 Tanker 5 to the scene. Meredith companies were back in service at 16:09.

Wall Street Structure Fire
January 27, 2011
Meredith Fire Department crews were alerted to a structure fire at 23:43 Thursday night. A 911 call placed by the resident at 42 Wall Street to the Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid Communications Center reported that the attic of the home had caught fire. While companies were en route, Stewart's Ambulance arrived on scene and confirmed the report. 14C2 immediately called for a first alarm assignment. This brought engine companies from Center Harbor, Laconia and Holderness to the scene. Moultonborough and New Hampton provided cover trucks for the Meredith stations.

Meredith Neck Rollover
January 26, 2011
The Meredith Fire Department was dispatched at 13:21 today to a MVA with rollover on Meredith Neck Road near Old Hubbard Road. 14C1 arrived on scene and reported a vehicle on it's side and no injury. 14 Engine 1 arrived on scene and worked to secure vehicle power. Companies remained on scene until the vehicle was removed and were placed in service at 13:53.

MVA with Wires Down
January 25, 2011
As Meredith companies were responding to a carbon monoxide problem with illness,an additional call for an MVA with wires down across the road was received at 20:17. 14 Engine 1 was diverted to the MVA located on Daniel Webster Highway near Picnic Rock Farms. 14 Rescue 1 also responded. Companies arrived to a pickup truck that had spun out on the icy road and struck a utility pole that supported a guy wire for another pole across the road. The impact shattered the pole and severed the guy wire which then became draped across a transformer.
The driver was uninjured but was forced to remain in the vehicle until the utility company arrived and secured the power in the area. Crews remained on scene until 21:15.

Second Alarm in Holderness
January 24, 2011
At 19:58 14 Tanker 5 responded to a second alarm structure fire at 33 Range Road in Holderness. Meredith's crew assisted with water supply and extinguishment in frigid conditions. The homeowner was attempting to thaw frozen water pipes and caused the fire. Companies were back in Meredith at 22:38
Fire on the Big Lake
January 22, 2011
Meredith companies were dispatched at 10:39 to a report of a snowmobile fire. Black smoke was visible from the station as 14 Engine 1 responded to the call. The snowmobile was approximately 300 feet from the Town Docks on the frozen waters of Lake Winnipesaukee. Personnel made their way on foot to extinguish the fire. Companies were in service twenty minutes later.

Automatic Aid to Laconia
January 16, 2011
14 Tanker 5 was called for automatic aid to 65 Rolling Lane in Laconia at 20:14 today to assist with a structure fire. The incident was upgraded to a first alarm shortly after the first arriving Laconia companies confirmed a working fire. Laconia crews quickly knocked down the fire that was located in the attic of a two story residential structure and placed 14 Tanker 5 and first alarm companies in service at 20:28.
MVA at the Roundabout
January 4, 2011
At 8:49 today Meredith companies were alerted to an MVA at the intersection of Daniel Webster Highway (US Route 3) and Parade Road (NH Route 106). 14C1 arrived on scene and reported a single vehicle that had gone through the center island of the Roundabout and was in the southbound lane on Daniel Webster Highway. Damage was minor but the crash had punctured the fuel tank and gasoline was running along the side of the road. 14 Engine 1 arrived and the crew stretched a hand line as a precaution and then worked to contain the leak and runoff. Companies remained on scene for approximately one alf hour until the vehicle was removed.

Route 25 MVA
December 21, 2010
At 16:41 today Meredith was dispatched to the area of 256 NH Route 25 for a motor vehicle accident with rollover. Subsequent reports indicated that power lines were down and the lone occupant of the vehicle was trapped inside. 14C4 arrived on scene and established command and confirmed same. 14 Engine 1 arrived and the crew set to work stabilizing the vehicle and then putting the hydraulic tools to work to extricate the victim. During extrication 14C1 requested DHART as the occupant had sustained serious injury. 14 Tower 1 secured a landing zone at Interlakes High School approximately one mile from the scene. All companies were in service at 17:50.

Winona Road Structure Fire
December 12, 2010
Meredith companies were alerted at 8:56 this morning to a structure fire at 53 Winona Road. 14C1 requested a first alarm at 9:06 after additional reports of fire showing and a large smoke column visible while en route to the scene. Companies arrived to a two and one half single family dwelling with fire showing from the roof. A special request was placed for additional tankers to the scene shortly after. Meredith companies remained on scene for around two hours due to extensive overhaul.
Meredith was assisted by crews and apparatus from Center Harbor, Laconia, Holderness, Moultonborough and New Hampton. Additional tankers were sent by Gilford, Belmont, Bristol and Tamworth. Gilford also provided an additional engine to assist with water supply.

Fire Alarm Activation on Reservoir Road
December 10, 2010
An attempt by the building owner at 61 Reservoir Road to fire up a Stanley Steamer automobile inside the structure almost ended in disaster today. Meredith crews were initially alerted with a report of a Fire Alarm Activation. 14C1 arrived on scene to moderate smoke showing from the rear of the building. Further investigation revealed that the fire was out but a heavy smoke condition was present in the building. Companies evacuated smoke and were placed in service a short time later.

Moultonborough 1st Alarm Structure Fire
November 19, 2010
14 Tanker 5 was called to assist Moultonborough at 70 Brick Kiln Road this evening. Additional reports from the Communications Center advised of multiple callers reporting heavy fire showing. 15C1 called for the 1st while en route to the scene. He arrived and reported a two an one half single family dwelling well involved with fire through the roof. Meredith personnel assisted with establishing water supply and remained on scene for approximately 3 hours.
Meredith to Holderness for Structure Fire
November 11, 2010
An initial call for a smoke investigation in Holderness quickly escalated to a 1st alarm blaze on Winnetaska Lane. 14 Engine 4 was assigned to station coverage at the Holderness station at the tone, but was diverted to the scene. Meredith personnel remained on scene for approximately one hour. The fire was later deemed suspicious in origin.
Bean Road Structure Fire in Moultonborough
November 9, 2010
At 9:23 a 1st alarm structure fire at 251 Bean road in Moultonborough brought 14 Tanker 5 to the scene to assist with water supply and fire suppression. The fire damaged several apartments in the building. Meredith companies remained on the scene for approximately two hours.
Meredith Assists Gilford at Two Structure Fires
November 4, 2010
14 Tanker and 14 Engine 2 responded to 72 Varney Point Road in Gilford to assist with a structure fire. Initially responding as part of a first alarm assignment, the incident quickly went to 3 alarms due to the structure involved being in close proximity to Fay's Boat Yard. Large numbers of fiberglass boats are stored there and presented a significant hazard. exposure problem. The fire was quickly knocked down and 14 Tanker 5 was released by command. 14 Engine 2 remained on scene for several hours to assist with overhaul. As 14 Engine 2 was about to go in service Gilford companies were alerted to another structure fire in the basement on Woodland Avenue. A 1st alarm was immediately called due in part to several of Gilford's apparatus still committed to the first scene. 14 Tanker 5 along with companies from Laconia and Belmont responded. Close proximity of Belmont's Engine 2 and Laconia's Ladder 1 made quick work of the fire and command returned 14 Tanker 5 prior to it arriving at the scene. 14 Engine 2 provided cover at the Gilford Station.
MVA with Entrapment
October 30, 2010
A report of an MVA with people trapped brought Meredith crews to the junction of Daniel Webster Highway and Parade Road at 17:28 today. The crash occurred within the roundabout at this location.
14C2 arrived on scene and reported two vehicles were involved and and each vehicle had a person trapped.
The occupant of one vehicle sustained injuries that required removal of the roof to extricate. Crews from 14 Engine 1 and 14 Engine 2 worked opposite sides of the vehicle simultaneously with hydraulic tools and made quick work of the task.
Personnel from 14 Rescue worked to contain vehicle fluids and isolate vehicle power as air bag deployment did not occur in the T-Bone type collision.

New Hampton MVA
October 23, 2010
Meredith companies responded automatic aid into New Hampton on Waukewan Road to a motor vehicle accident at 22:55. Initial dispatch information indicated a single vehicle with entrapment. The first arriving EMS company, after investigating, advised all occupants were out of the vehicle. Meredith crews assisted EMS with getting a total of five patients prepared for transport to local hospitals.

Route 104 MVA

Meredith companies were alerted at 0:23 to a motor vehicle accident on NH Route 104 between Meredith Center Road and Chase Road. 14 Engine 2 arrived on scene to find one vehicle off the road that had struck a tree. The crew from 14 Engine 1 assisted with scene lighting. All companies were in service at 1:15.

Vehicle Accident with Injury
October 13, 2010
Meredith companies were alerted at 16:04 to a motor vehicle accident with injury in front of 193 Daniel Webster Highway (Route 3). 14C1 arrived on scene and reported 2 vehicles involved, one of which had air bag deployment after striking a guard rail. Meredith EMS was treating one occupant of the vehicle. The crew from 14 Engine 1 stabilized the vehicle and cleaned up debris from the vehicle. Companies cleared the scene around 30 minutes later.

of a second alarm assignment to Belknap Point Road in Gilford this evening. First arriving companies advised of a three story residence well involved on the second and third floors and fire through the roof. The building was under construction and unoccupied. A third alarm was struck later in the incident to bring additional companies to the scene to assist.
Third Alarm Structure Fire in Laconia

Weirs Beach in Laconia was the scene of a structure fire early this morning at the Wide Open Saloon. Laconia companies arrived on scene reporting heavy fire showing from the second and third floors. The incident quickly went to three alarms bringing several area departments including Meredith to the scene. 14 Engine 2 and 14 Engine 4 responded at 3:36 and assisted on scene with fire suppression and water supply. All Meredith companies were in service at 9:27.
Gilford Barn Fire

A second alarm barn fire at 324 Hoyt Road in Gilford brought Meredith companies to the scene. 14 Tanker 5 and 14 Engine 2 were alerted at 18:10. Meredith crews assisted with establishing water supply and fire suppression. All Meredith companies were in service at 22:49.
Follett Road Kitchen Fire

Meredith companies were alerted to a report of a kitchen fire at 16:46 at 30 Follett Road this afternoon. Center Harbor also responded automatic aid. Center Harbor 5 Engine 2 was first on scene and reported the fire out on arrival. Crews checked for extension. All companies were in service at 17:23.

At 19:39 an Engine company from Meredith was requested to cover the Sanbornton station as part of a third alarm assignment for a structure fire on Knox Mountain Road. 14 Engine 2 responded to fill the assignment. While en route, command requested 14 Engine 2 divert to the scene to assist.
First Alarm in Moultonborough

14 Tanker 5 was requested at 16:28 as part
of a 1st alarm assignment to 17 Boat House Road in Moultonborough command advised on arrival of a well involved garage attached to a residence. Moultonborough crews made a quick knock down on the fire and 14 Tanker 5 was placed in service by command prior to reaching the scene.
Fire Alarm Activation at Golden View
August 12, 2010
At 2:53 Meredith companies were alerted to a fire alarm activation at 19 NH Route 104. Additional calls from the facility reported a smoke condition on the third floor. 14C1 arrived and investigated.
14 Engine 1 arrived shortly after and the crew was ordered to the third floor. The source of the smoke was quickly located, the cause being an overheated motor on a tabletop fan. All companies were clear of the scene at 3:29

Meredith Assists Gilford on Structure Fire

14 Tanker 5 and 14 Engine 2 were dispatched at 7:46 this morning to a 1st Alarm structure fire at 2393 Lakeshore Road. Gilford command struck the alarm after arriving on scene and discovering a fire in the attic space of a condominium building. Meredith companies returned to service at 8:31
Veasey Shore Road Structure Fire
July 21, 2010
A round of severe weather that passed through the Lakes Region early in the evening kept area departments including Meredith busy. Crews were busy answering several calls when a report of a fire alarm activation was received for 140 Veasey Shore Road. 14 Engine 4 arrived on scene and investigated. Shortly afterward the homeowner then alerted Engine 4 of smoke coming from a residence across the street. 14 Engine 4 relocated and initiated an interior attack. 14C1 arrived and assumed command and advised of a two story 20 x 60 foot barn with heavy smoke showing. Engine 4's crew quickly knocked down the the fire. In addition to Meredith companies, Center Harbor responded to the scene automatic mutual aid. Laconia provided a cover truck for the Downtown Station. The cause is under investigation.

Pleasant Street Structure Fire

A report of a structure fire at 19:41 sent Meredith Fire Department companies to 32 Pleasant Street. 14 Engine 1 along with 14C1 arrived on scene and the crew quickly knocked down a fire that had started in the kitchen. 14 Tower 1 and 14 Engine 3 assisted with smoke removal and also salvage and overhaul. Companies remained on scene for approximately one hour.

The Meredith Fire Department was dispatched at 22:02 hours to 23 Liscomb Circle in Gilford for a 1st alarm structure fire. Meredith companies were placed in staging on arrival but were moved up to the scene to assist Gilford companies with overhaul.

Appliance Fire

At 20:35 hours Meredith companies were alerted to a fire in the building at 23 Gould Avenue. Caller reported that a television had caught fire. 14C1 arrived on scene and established command. Shortly after his arrival he reported no fire or smoke in the structure and held all companies in quarters.
Mutual Aid to Gilmanton

At 15:35 Meredith companies were requested as part of a 4th alarm assignment for manpower to assist Gilmanton companies with a barn fire. A stretch of oppressive weather conditions over the past few days with heat indices approaching 100 degrees prompted the request. Several other fires around the area including the Mount Major fire in Alton had severely taxed area fire departments and personnel. The Meredith crew assisted with overhaul.

A 3rd alarm equivalent request for manpower and hand tools sent a crew from Meredith to assist with a brush fire on the southern slope of Mount Major in Alton. The Meredith crew assisted with cutting fire lines to contain the fire. This fire burned for two more days before it could be completely extinguished.
Structure Fire on Daniel Webster Highway

At 8:09 The Meredith Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 435 Daniel Webster Highway. 14C2 arrived on scene, established command and reported heavy smoke showing from three sides of the building. 14 Engine 1 arrived shortly after and mounted an aggressive interior attack and made a quick knock down. 14 Tower 1 performed ventilation. Command placed the incident under control at 8:29.
Companies on scene: 14 Engine 1, 14 Engine 3, 14 Tanker 5, 14 Tower 1, 14 Rescue 1 with 14 Utility 1 (Air Trailer).
Center Harbor 5 Engine 2 provided a cover truck for the Meredith Downtown Station.
